What are the Tennessee Franchise and Excise taxes?

The Tennessee Franchise and Excise taxes (often referred to as F&E) are the taxes applied to most businesses in Tennessee. The Department of Revenue is offering free live webinars to taxpayers, starting this month. The first two webinars are on franchise and excise tax topics:

* October 20, 2020, 9 am CT: Franchise & Excise Tax: FONCE, Obligated Member

* October 27, 2020, 9 am CT: Franchise & Excise Tax: Most Common F&E Exemptions: Farming/Personal Residence, Affordable Housing, Venture Capital, Diversified Investments.
